Stags Agricultural Sales Department were kindly invited by McVeigh Parker and C&O Tractors to conduct an onsite collective sale at Pitt Farm, Muxbeare Lane, Cullompton, Devon, EX15 3BY to coincide with their joint open day on the 13th April 2024, with the auction site kindly provided by John Dorse Ltd.

As with our most recent sales, due to the increased wet weather, the team were met with some challenges under foot on the delivery day, ensuring that lots were delivered safely and making sure that minimal damage to the ground. A healthy entry of 546 items were entered ranging from small miscellaneous lots to larger machinery items. The sale commenced at 11am, starting with the smaller entries, followed by a second auction which commenced at 13:30 and also included live online, video streamed, bidding as well as taking bids from the field.

A total of 179 members of the public registered to bid online with 88 bidders, between online and onsite purchasers, being successful in purchasing items. The catalogue reached a total of 2673 views, an impressive number as the catalogue was not available until all lots had been booked in from the delivery day the evening before the sale. Purchasers throughout the whole sale came from several locations including, North Devon, East Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

Top price went to a 2007 JCB 533.105 Telehandler showing 4230 hours on the clock for £14,250, followed by a Shelbourne Reynolds 200 FYM Spreader which achieved £3,655. Next up was a 2012 Ford Ranger Drop Side Truck with just over 120,000 miles on the clock which saw £2,420 as well as a 1991 Mercedes 3120 Drop Side Van with just shy of 78,000 miles reaching a price of £1,812.50

All in all, Stags are delighted to say that the sale was an overall success with a good crowd of purchasers present.
